Service . B2B Email Marketing

Email marketing for technical B2B companies, with newsletter and lead nurturing

So you stay top of mind until the need arises at your ideal customers.

In technical B2B, months often pass between the first interest and the first inquiry. Email marketing bridges that time. One issue a month keeps you on your ideal customers’ radar, and personal outreach only goes to those who have given a verifiable reason. That’s how inquiries emerge from contacts you already have.

Professional email marketing for software, industrial, and IT service companies

These companies sell offerings that need explaining, with long decision paths. What matters to them is that their name is sitting in the inbox when the budget gets approved.

02 / Starting Point in B2B Purchasing

Why do prospects often only reach out months after the first contact?

Why email lead nurturing matters in technical B2B

In technical B2B, investments are prepared over the course of quarters. Whoever reaches out in the wrong month hears a no about timing, not about the offer. Email lead nurturing bridges exactly this waiting period, because you stay in the inbox without pushing.

  • The contact was good, and then it fizzled out in the daily grind.

The monthly issue keeps you in touch with everyone whose need isn’t there yet.

  • A newsletter always falls apart for us because of the time it takes.

Your effort comes to roughly one hour a month.

  • Sales practically never gets around to following up.

A trigger-based sequence keeps the thread alive, so inquiries come from contacts you already have.

  • Our last mass emails brought in more unsubscribes than replies.

Every personal email has a verifiable trigger. An address on a list does not.

  • In the end, nobody really knows where an inquiry actually came from.

You can see whether a booked call came from the monthly issue, from a personal email, or from another channel, and what that call cost you.

03 / Scope of Email Marketing

What does LILOX actually deliver in email marketing?

What you get from LILOX in email marketing

Six building blocks, all documented and handed over to you. The issue, the distribution list, templates, and measurement become your property. You can cancel monthly and keep working with them.

Schematic illustration, no measured values
BUILDING BLOCK 01

One issue a month built from your existing content

It’s built from what already happens at your company. Project reports, answers from your support team, expert articles, and trade-show impressions come together into one issue that runs without extra resources on your end.

✓ Yours to keep
BUILDING BLOCK 02

Signal-based outreach on a verifiable trigger

Signal-based means a single personal email only goes out once there’s a verifiable reason. A new role, an announced investment, or a visit to your website counts as a reason.

✓ Yours to keep
BUILDING BLOCK 03

Human approval before every send

Every issue and every personal email is shown to you beforehand. Tools handle the groundwork, approval is always done by hand. Nothing goes out automatically with us.

✓ Yours to keep
BUILDING BLOCK 04

Connected to your CRM and your measurement setup

Every inquiry gets a source. You can see whether a booked call came from the monthly issue, from a personal email, or from another channel, and what that call cost you.

✓ Yours to keep
BUILDING BLOCK 05

Deliverability and clean sender addresses

Sender addresses, the technical records in your domain name, and the warm-up phase for a new inbox are all part of setup. That way your emails land in the inbox instead of the promotions folder.

✓ Yours to keep
BUILDING BLOCK 06

Your distribution list stays clean and documented

Origin, consent, and unsubscribes are traceable for every contact. You can prove at any time why someone receives your issue.

✓ Yours to keep

04 / Process in Five Phases

How long does it take to build a B2B newsletter connected to your CRM?

How your B2B newsletter gets built step by step

The build runs in five phases, each with your sign-off. In week one, the distribution list and target value are set. From week four, the first issue goes out and trigger-based outreach begins. After that, the monthly cadence runs with reporting.

P01 . WEEK 1

Your distribution list and your target value are set

Existing contacts, the origin of each address, and the number you’ll measure us by.

P02 . WEEK 2

You see the blueprint for your issue

Sections, tone of voice, and the in-house sources that every issue is built from.

P03 . FROM WEEK 3

Template, sender, and deliverability take shape

Design, technical records, and the sender warm-up phase get underway.

P04 . FROM WEEK 4

First issue and trigger-based outreach

The issue goes out after your approval, and signals are monitored from here on.

P05 . ONGOING

Operations, monthly report, and handover to you

One issue and one report every month, plus templates and a walkthrough for your team.

05 / Content for Your Monthly Issue

Where does the content for a monthly B2B newsletter come from?

Where the content for your B2B newsletter comes from

A newsletter almost always fails on the question of who writes it. That’s why we build it from your existing material. Your effort comes to roughly one hour a month, and you see every issue fully drafted before it goes out.

A person sits at a desk in front of an open laptop and writes notes in a notebook.
From your support team

Answers your support team writes every day anyway.

What gets asked repeatedly at your company also interests the readers of your issue.

  • Frequently asked questions from your tickets
  • Answers in your own voice
  • No extra writing work on your end
From your projects

Experience from projects you’re allowed to talk about.

One project per issue is enough for your ideal customers to see how you work.

  • One project report per issue
  • We clear approval with your customer beforehand
  • The technical depth stays intact
From your expertise

Perspective on what occupies your engineers day to day.

Your take on a development in the market is worth more to your ideal customers than a plain news item.

  • One topic per issue
  • Events and trade shows when they fit
  • You see the issue before it’s sent

These three sources come together into an issue your ideal customers read out of genuine professional interest. You can change every line before it leaves the building.

06 / Signal-Based Outreach

What does signal-based outbound mean in B2B marketing?

How personal outreach on a verifiable trigger works

Outbound means active outreach. Signal-based means every single email is tied to a verifiable event. Three rules keep this channel clean.

01

Every personal email has a verifiable trigger.

On signal

A new role, an announced investment, a visit to your website, or a reaction to your issue counts as a trigger. An address on a list does not.

02

Your issue keeps running on a steady monthly cadence.

One cadence a month

The monthly issue keeps you in touch with everyone whose need isn’t there yet. It costs you no attention day to day and still keeps your name in the inbox.

03

Nothing leaves your company without your approval.

Approved by hand

Every text is shown to you before it goes out. That way you keep control over the tone your company uses in the market.

07 / Our Service

What stays with you if you end the collaboration?

Which services are included in email marketing at LILOX

The service includes eight points that stay the same in every engagement. Distribution list, issue, templates, and measurement are built on your own accounts and become your property. You can cancel monthly and keep working with all of it.

All eight points are documented and handed over to your team. The sending service runs under your name, the distribution list sits in your account, and the templates remain yours even if you end the collaboration.

08 / Results

What results does email marketing deliver in technical B2B?

Results from three technical B2B engagements with email marketing

The numbers come from ongoing engagements and describe the effect of the whole system, in which email was one of several channels.

RESULT 01

Software company

+12 qualified first conversations a month.

Starting point

Inquiries came almost exclusively through referrals. Existing contacts sat unused in the inbox.

Timeframe

6 months from the first analysis to ongoing operations.

Result

12 additional qualified first conversations per month.

RESULT 02

Hardware manufacturer

€480k pipeline in 5 months.

Starting point

Long decision paths and little access to the leadership level of ideal customers.

Timeframe

5 months in which the channels were connected one after another.

Result

14 calls at CIO level and €480k pipeline.

RESULT 03

IT service provider

17% response rate instead of around 10%.

Starting point

Outreach ran through broad lists and mostly went without a response.

Timeframe

9 months with outreach exclusively on a verifiable trigger.

Result

17% response rate instead of around 10%, and 5 new customers.

09 / Service Portfolio

What other services does LILOX offer besides the email channel?

Email is one of five building blocks in LILOX’s B2B marketing

You can book each building block individually. Together they form a system in which every inquiry gets a source. The website is the foundation, because all the other channels lead back to it. What you start with is up to you, after the visibility check.

The service portfolio

Five building blocks for your B2B marketing

The website is the foundation. Everything else connects to it and feeds into the same measurement.

Email

One issue a month, built from your own content. It keeps you in touch with your ideal customers until the need arises. Every send is approved by you beforehand.

10 / Pricing

What does running a B2B newsletter with outreach cost per month?

Free strategy call

In 30 minutes, we discuss how your company gets found today and which contacts are already sitting unused at your end. You get the findings as a document and go through them with us.

STEP 02

Ongoing service from €2,900 a month

A monthly flat fee that’s tailored individually to the desired scope and can be cancelled monthly: one issue a month, trigger-based outreach, upkeep of your distribution list, and the monthly report. The sending service runs under your name and stays in your hands.

The comparison we think makes sense is an in-house sales hire. That costs €60,000 to €80,000 a year, on top of onboarding, management, and tools. You get your newsletter with outreach and measurement for a fraction of that.

12 / Who We Are

Who at LILOX works on our project?

The two founders of LILOX, from marketing and technology

LILOX is owner-led and deliberately works with only a handful of companies at a time. Your point of contact stays the same, from the first analysis through to ongoing service.

Portrait of Nadine Fraiss, founder of LILOX.
Nadine Fraiss . Marketing

15 years in digital marketing, several of them at CMO level.

Head of Marketing across traditional Mittelstand, startups, and scale-ups. Nadine has sat on both sides of the table: as the client who had to justify agency budgets, and as the person responsible for delivering pipeline by the end of the quarter.

For you, she leads positioning, the website, and campaigns, and stays your point of contact throughout the ongoing service.

  • Positioning and messaging for offerings that need explaining
  • Website as core module, from structure to conversion path
  • LinkedIn, email, and ads working together instead of side by side

“Marketing is measured on pipeline today.”

Portrait of Christoph Fraiss, founder of LILOX.
Christoph Fraiss . Technology

Engineer and industrial engineer, Head of Engineering and managing director in production.

Christoph is a mechanical engineer, industrial engineer (MSc) and holds an international MBA from the Carlson School of Management and WU Vienna. 15 years of experience in managing large-scale projects, engineering high-performance plants and as a production and company manager, including at Thermo Fisher, Novartis and Aenova. He knows the moment an offer fails on price, and the moment it fails on a missing explanation.

For you, he translates between technology and market. That way, the project understands your product from the very first conversation.

  • Technical translation from datasheet to customer benefit
  • The investment decision-maker’s view of your offering
  • Process understanding from production, costing, and sales

“I know how these companies run on the inside.”

From Experience

What sets B2B marketing for technical companies apart from other marketing

01

Your offering needs explaining, and it can’t survive being simplified

An offering that needs explaining loses the moment it gets simplified. Whoever doesn’t understand your technology cuts exactly the sentences that bring in the deal.

02

Weeks to months pass between first contact and inquiry

Weeks to months pass between first seeing you and getting in touch. A single campaign fizzles out; a lasting presence doesn’t.

03

Multiple roles decide on your deal together

Management, marketing, sales, and IT sit at the same table and ask different questions. Your site has to answer all four.

04

A handful of high-value customers instead of volume

At your deal sizes, what counts isn’t the number of contacts, but whether the right ten companies know you when they’re ready to invest.

Nadine and her team were a stroke of luck for us. They helped us position our brand and product portfolio without forcing us to completely rethink our original vision or resources — they polished our rough diamond, so to speak. Thanks to a lead-generation strategy that actually fit our budget, we've been able to market our business model to exactly the right audience. A clear recommendation for SMEs like us.

14 / Frequently Asked Questions

The questions B2B companies most often ask about email marketing

Don’t see your question here?

Drop us a line. You’ll get an answer from one of the two founders, not from a shared inbox.

Ask a question
How often should a B2B newsletter go out?

One issue a month has proven itself. This cadence keeps you on your ideal customers’ radar and stays manageable day to day, because each issue is built from content you already produce.

Where does the content for the monthly issue come from?

From within your own company. Project reports, common questions from your support team, expert articles, and events get assembled into one issue. Your effort comes to roughly one hour a month for raw material and approval.

Does LILOX work with purchased address lists?

Purchased lists are not part of the service. They burn through exactly the addresses that matter at your deal size, and they damage your sender reputation for years. We work with your own contacts and with outreach on a verifiable signal.

What does signal-based outbound mean in B2B marketing?

Outbound means active outreach. Signal-based means every single email is tied to a verifiable event, such as a new role, an announced investment, or a visit to your website. Without a signal, no email goes out.

Who approves a send before it goes out?

You do. Every issue and every personal email is presented to you fully drafted. Tools handle the groundwork, approval is always done by hand. Nothing leaves your company automatically.

How do you make sure our emails land in the inbox?

Setup includes dedicated sender addresses, the technical records in your domain name, and a warm-up phase for new inboxes. After that, deliverability is monitored on an ongoing basis and reported in the monthly report.

How do we see which inquiry came from an email?

Every inquiry gets a source and lands in your CRM accordingly. The monthly report shows which booked call came from the issue, from a personal email, or from another channel, and what it cost.

What does the email channel cost per month?

The ongoing service runs on a monthly flat fee that’s tailored individually to the desired scope and can be cancelled monthly. Working together is possible from €2,900 a month. The visibility check at the start is free of charge. For comparison, an in-house sales hire costs €60,000 to €80,000 a year.

Is B2B cold outreach by email allowed in Austria and Switzerland?

The rules differ from country to country, and Austria is the strictest of the three. There, telecommunications law generally requires prior consent, including towards companies, with a narrowly defined exception for existing customers. Germany and Switzerland assess it differently. That is why we work with your own contacts and with outreach on a verifiable signal, never with purchased lists. The binding assessment for your case comes from your legal advisors.

What is the difference between a newsletter and outbound?

A newsletter goes to people who already know you and keeps you on their radar. Outbound is active outreach to people who don’t know you yet. Each needs different copy, different sender addresses, and a different legal basis. That is why we keep the two technically separate: one issue a month built from your existing content, and alongside it individual emails that only go out on a verifiable trigger.

Does outbound damage our reputation with existing customers and in the market?

Only if it runs without a trigger and without approval. That is why no email goes out here that isn’t tied to a verifiable event, and none that you haven’t seen. Existing customers, open quotes, and contacts your sales team is currently working are removed from the list before every send. In a market with few companies, that is not a nicety, it is a basic condition.

Why don’t you send from our regular company domain?

Because a deliverability problem would otherwise hit all of your company communication. For sending, we set up a separate sender domain, add the technical records, and warm up the inboxes over several weeks. If something goes wrong there, your main domain is unaffected, and your quotes and invoices keep arriving. Deliverability is monitored on an ongoing basis and appears in the monthly report.

Which sending platform do you use, and who owns the data?

The accounts run under your name, and we work with one login inside them. Contacts, histories, templates, and reports belong to you and stay with you when the collaboration ends. Which platform we use is decided together, based on your CRM and your data protection requirements, not on our habits. An export is possible at any time, including mid-operation.
